Moonchild mats

It is recommended to clean this mat only as described, as the mat is made of natural rubber to preserve the mat.

Here's how you do it
Direct recommendations from Moonchild are that you wipe the mat with a damp cloth and let the mat dry. After any practice, especially a sweaty practice, allow your Moonchild mat to dry completely before rolling it up.

Clean the mat gently - only when necessary. Use a small drop of dish soap diluted with plenty of water and gently wipe with a non-scratching sponge or cloth that is damp and wrung out. We recommend that you only do this after every 8-10 uses. If you regularly practice in sweaty conditions, you may want to clean your mat more often, but remember that while the planet-friendly Moonchild mat is made from materials that are particularly durable for yoga practice, over-cleaning or using cleaning products will wear out any material more quickly.
Avoid keeping your mat out in direct sunlight for long periods. Your mat is, (very important), made of biodegradable material. Prolonged exposure to the sun can break it down faster. But don't worry, it's okay to use the mat when there's a bit of sun.
When you put your mat away, always let it dry and then roll it with the top side (the smooth colored side, with the moon phase print) on the outside. Designed to be rolled this way, it will help ensure that your Moonchild mat rolls out and is flat every time you use it for your practice.
Due to the absorbent (and hygienic) materials used, it may be the case that your skin's natural oils may mark or stain the surface of the mat. Try to avoid this by not applying oily creams or body oils etc. before using it. As this can of course make marks on the mat. The good news is that these kinds of marks often fade gradually over time or after cleaning, as suggested above. But overall, it is hoped that you will be proud of your mat's "memories" from all those training hours.

On the go with your mat
If you're on your way home from your yoga class, it's no problem, just roll it up, take it home and unroll it again as quickly as you can. Wipe with a damp cloth and allow to dry.
